Individual therapy

Whether you have had an experience with a therapist before, or if this is your first time, meeting with a therapist can be overwhelming. Rather than spending numerous sessions getting to know each other, my approach is “here and now” and humanistic.

Imagine looking forward to weekly sessions with your therapist because you genuinely enjoy your time together and you find yourself feeling as though you are meeting an acquaintance for coffee. I value my time with my clients and understand that it is a privilege to be let in to the very most protected thoughts and feelings that people may not even share with themselves.

I conceptualize each of my client’s cases from an attachment modality in order to explore how the ways in which people interact with others directly reflects very early and significant relationships that were critical for survival. The relationship with your therapist should be a model and corrective emotional experience in order to have more meaningful connections with others.

Couples therapy

By the time most couples find themselves in a session with a therapist, they have decided that this is the last option to “save” their relationship, or they know that they want the relationship to work and have tried everything else.

Couples therapy may not always be about saving the relationship or making the other partner finally see the light. This is also an opportunity to really identify why the relationship has lasted as long as it has, or why both decided to embark on this journey together.

It may very well be the case that after therapy, both come to terms that the relationship was a representation of an idea, or each person in the relationship may have been what each needed in that moment in their life.

Queer men face issues that are highly specific that most heterosexual couples may not have experienced or deal with in their relationships. My goal with couples I work with is to explore the deep-rooted issues that both bring to the relationship in order to identify better ways to communicate or navigate through difficult situations.

Consulting

From consulting with website and tech developers, to working with teachers in order to implement trauma-informed care in the classroom setting, I bring over 10 years of experience in recovery and private practice settings to help professionals explore how to provide specific services to those who may be experiencing mental health-related issues in the workplace or classroom.

As a guest on numerous podcasts and a contributor to mental health and media platforms, I provide insight into the LGBTQIA+ community that can help promote inclusivity and awareness in order to effect change within various communities and organizations.
